Can't say I didn't see this coming with all the minutes he was playing right out the gate, not to mention what intuition and astrology was telling me.
Why does someone get injured? Many may feel that simple physical mechanics, like overplaying, or poor conditioning are the chief culprits. Others say it is simply bad luck. While it is certainly true that there are many physical reasons an athlete gets injured, might there also be other, less discussed reasons, be they emotional, mental, or even spiritual?
Astrology may be able to tell us a lot about what is happening with an athlete when they go down.
Interesting to note both Kobe and Derrick Rose are undergoing major astrological transits involving Pluto, planet of transformation and unearthing deep seated issues, and Uranus, planet of revolution, radical changes, accidents, and the unexpected.
Neither of these transits allow one to simply push ahead with what has worked before. Instead, Pluto gets us to deal with root issues we may have left untouched (i.e. what might there be to learn from all this? Perhaps Kobe may learn he doesn't need to value himself so much based on performance, a never ending pit of testing oneself and needing to be the best common to those with Saturn/Sun conjunction like Kobe).
My personal belief is that these transits are the universe's way of teaching us. Teaching us what, exactly? Depends on the person, but perhaps that we are meant for something else, perhaps that we are more than our accomplishments, perhaps to learn new ways of doing things. In the case of Derrick Rose, he said that he got to spend more time with his son as a result of his first major injury, a torn ACL. Rose, a Libra Sun, said it was very important for him to spend time with his son, given that he never really knew his Father. So while many may have mourned the loss of an NBA season for one of the league's superstars, Rose may have never got to spend precious time with his son, something that, IMHO is likely far more important and impactful on a deep, personal level than playing in the NBA.
Also interesting both have had knee issues, and Pluto is in capricorn, which rules the knees, which according to at least one author are affected when we are reluctant to change, somethng Uranus would abhor.
Instead, Uranus calls upon the person it is affecting to try new things, liberate oneself from old ways of doing things and find freedom.
Astrology is a great way to help understand the whys and whats of sports and virtually any other aspect of life.
